Finland sends its 32nd defence materiel package to Ukraine valued at approximately 43 million euros. The delivery includes, among other things, materiel procured from the Finnish defence industry. The total value of Finland's materiel support now amounts to 3.2 billion euros.
– Finland continues systematically to support Ukraine with defence materiel. We want to ensure, for our part, that Ukraine's right and ability to defend its country and its people are met, says Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen in a press release.
The decision was made by the President of the Republic on 5 February at the proposal of the Council of State. The package consists partly of newly purchased materiel from the industry within the framework of the special support programme to Ukraine.
For operational reasons, no further information about the content, delivery method, or schedule is disclosed, according to the press release. According to the Ministry of Defence, the decision has been made considering both Ukraine's needs and the Finnish Defence Forces' own resource situation.
