Finland has decided to send an additional defence materiel package to Ukraine. This is stated in a press release from the Finnish Ministry of Defence.
The decision was taken on 29 May by Finland's president on the proposal of the government. The package is the 33rd Finnish support package since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began.
According to the Finnish Ministry of Defence, the value of the materiel now being sent amounts to approximately 128 million euros. The total value of Finland's military support to Ukraine thereby reaches around 3.4 billion euros.
"Finland continues its strong support for Ukraine. We condemn Russia's war of aggression and will support Ukraine for as long as the need remains. The value of our defence materiel support now amounts to 3.4 billion euros. Today's package contains many products from Finnish companies," writes Finland's Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen on X.
The Ministry of Defence states that it will not disclose any details regarding the contents of the package, the method of delivery, or the timeline, citing operational reasons. According to the ministry, the support has been designed in accordance with Ukraine's needs while also taking into account the Finnish Defence Forces' own resources.
