Embraer has signed an agreement to deliver training systems for the C-390 Millennium transport aircraft to the Swedish and Austrian air forces. The agreement was presented at the Farnborough International Airshow on 20 July 2026.
Embraer states that the Swedish Air Force (Flygvapnet) will receive a complete training package consisting of a Full Flight Simulator (FFS), a Cargo Handling Station Trainer (CHST) developed in collaboration with Rheinmetall, and a Computer-Based Training (CBT) solution developed with ETI. The FFS is designed to achieve Level D qualification and will enable pilot training under normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions, including military mission scenarios.
The Austrian Air Force will receive a computer-based training solution for theoretical instruction and crew qualification. Embraer states that Austria will receive a total of four C-390 Millennium aircraft from 2028 onwards, which will replace the older C-130 Hercules.
The training systems are designed for pilots, loadmasters, crew members, and maintenance personnel. Embraer states that the systems will increase operational readiness for the C-390 fleets and improve interoperability among European operators.
