In a press release, Eltel Networks states that the company has been entrusted for an additional four years by the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten) regarding services for the maintenance of existing infrastructure such as masts and towers. It is now confirmed as the Swedish Armed Forces have chosen to exercise options in the current contract, which was awarded in 2020. The estimated order value over four years is 250 million SEK.

The assignment involves mechanical maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' masts and towers, and means that Eltel needs to hire up to eight people, both technicians and project planners.

– It is a good testament to us and the work we have done so far. Now the work continues and we have the nationwide organisation in place. We are also working on recruiting technicians, says Lars Nilsson, CEO of Eltel Sweden.

The option period runs from June 2023 to June 2027.
