Element Materials Technology has signed a collaboration agreement with BAE Systems Hägglunds. The agreement means that the company will become a provider of material technology testing services for the vehicle manufacturer.
– We are very proud to become suppliers to one of the world's foremost defence companies. BAE Systems Hägglunds has well-filled order books extending more than 10 years into the future, and we look forward to assisting them with our expertise in material technology, says Viktor Runius, Defence Director at Element Sweden, in a press release.
The assignment is described as extensive and includes the full breadth of Element's expertise in material technology and measurement technology. BAE Systems Hägglunds produces, among other things, the Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90) and the BvS10, platforms used by both Sweden and several international customers.
Element has its Swedish headquarters in Linköping (southern Sweden) and is already a supplier to the defence sector. Among existing customers are Saab, the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten), and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
– Element possesses deep competence in the defence area. That BAE Systems Hägglunds chooses us as a supplier is further proof of this, says Viktor Runius.
