Foreign Minister Szijjártó, who previously attracted attention during his visit to the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, in July, emphasised in a Facebook post that the main focus of the meeting will be the situation in Ukraine and Sweden's accession to NATO. He concluded his post by stating that the completion of the ratification process now remains only as a mere technicality.
According to information from Politico, the letter was published on X (formerly Twitter) during the afternoon. Szijjártó calls for reflection and highlights that Sweden's previously heightened tone may affect the Hungarian parliament's decision to approve Sweden's NATO application.
- This contradiction is now even stronger and definitely does not help to fulfil your constantly repeated demand," the minister concludes his letter.
