According to TED, the Danish combat vehicles will be of the CV9035 MKIIIC model, the same version that Sweden recently ordered to replace the vehicles donated to Ukraine.
Negotiations for the purchase were reported by Danish TV2 to be in the final stages in April, according to sources for the channel. The news was published the day after the Prime Ministers of Denmark and Sweden visited Hägglunds' facility in Örnsköldsvik.
Denmark ordered its first Combat Vehicles 90 in 2005 and has used them in Afghanistan. In March, BAE Systems signed a 15-year framework agreement with the defence procurement agency DALO, valued at approximately 400 million dollars, for the repair and maintenance of the country's CV90 fleet.
In December, Sweden and Denmark signed a declaration of intent to jointly procure more CV90s for Ukraine. Initially, Denmark would support with 1.8 billion Swedish kronor and Sweden would support the procurement within the framework of the agreement made between FMV and Ukraine last summer.
Update at 21:35 - Kim Jesper Jørgensen, Denmark's National Armaments Director, writes in a comment on FSN's post on LinkedIn:
– An important step on the path towards developing the 1st Brigade into a heavy armoured brigade.
