Denmark has placed a new order for the Swedish recoilless rifle Carl-Gustaf M4 from Saab. The agreement also includes ammunition and training equipment valued at 510 million kronor. Deliveries will take place from 2026 to 2028.

According to a press release from Saab, it is the Danish Ministry of Defence's Materiel and Procurement Agency (DALO) that is behind the procurement. The Carl-Gustaf weapon system has been used in Denmark since the 1970s, and the latest version, M4, was introduced in 2022.

– The Carl-Gustaf M4 provides the user with excellent precision and flexibility and has a wide range of ammunition options, ensuring that Danish soldiers are well-equipped to meet various types of threats. We look forward to continuing to contribute to the Danish Defence's capability for a long time to come, says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab's business area Dynamics, in the press release.
