Denmark has signed a framework agreement with Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles for the delivery of up to 1,000 military trucks of the HX and TG models. The first order includes just over 100 vehicles and is expected to be delivered before the end of 2027.
The agreement is part of the build-up of the Danish 1st Brigade and has been awarded as a direct procurement using funds from the country's acceleration fund. The new vehicles, which are of the HX2 type, will be delivered in several variants and are intended for a wide range of operational tasks within the brigade's support.
The contract was signed on 27 November in Copenhagen (København, capital of Denmark) by Colonel Thomas Øgendahl Knudsen, head of the land division at the Danish Defence Materiel and Procurement Agency (FMI), together with André Barthel, CEO of Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles.
– The acquisition of new terrain trucks for the brigade is yet another important piece in the army's build-up. Through this agreement, we ensure that the soldiers will receive a significant increase in their operational capability within a few years. I am pleased that the cooperation with Rheinmetall continues, says Øgendahl Knudsen.
In addition to the delivery of the vehicles themselves, the order also includes spare parts, maintenance, and training. At the same time, the parties have agreed to extend the existing support contract for previously delivered vehicles by an additional four years.
