The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) has signed a contract for more Naval Strike Missiles (NSM) from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The deal adds to the Royal Danish Navy’s 2025 NSM purchase and increases the number of missiles.

– We are strengthening the Navy’s missile capability and helping to increase Denmark’s overall defence capability, says Captain Steen Balslev, head of DALO's maritime division.

DALO announced the contract on 19 October 2026. It did not give the number of missiles, the value or a delivery schedule.

The purchase is a government-to-government deal with Norway. The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (FMA) negotiated the contract with Kongsberg.

The NSM is a precision missile that can strike ships and land targets. DALO says the new missiles are for the Navy’s frigates. The same missile is used in Kongsberg’s NSM Coastal Defence System. Denmark ordered a battery of that system in December 2025, as previously reported by NDS.

According to the Norwegian government, the original contracts were signed in March 2025 and are worth about NOK 2 billion. Under them, the NSM replaces Harpoon on the Iver Huitfeldt-class frigates, with deliveries from 2025 to 2030.
