Denmark is putting approximately DKK 22.4 million from its Ukraine Fund into an EU project to modernise military training centres in Ukraine. The Danish Ministry of Defence announced the contribution on 28 September.
According to the Danish Ministry of Defence, EU member states fund the project through voluntary contributions. The money pays for building and buying teaching facilities, accommodation and training equipment. The Ukrainian non-profit Come Back Alive is carrying out the work.
– It is important for building Ukrainian combat power that Ukrainian soldiers can train on Ukrainian soil, said Danish Minister of Defence Jeppe Bruus.
Denmark will oversee the project and report on it to the EU. According to the ministry, the project can buy from several Ukrainian suppliers at the same time. In February, Denmark announced its contribution of around DKK 243 million to a similar project with Come Back Alive.
