Denmark's defense has chosen to equip its Combat Vehicle 90 (CV9035DK) with the Swedish camouflage system Barracuda Mobile Camouflage System. The system, delivered by Saab, is intended to enhance the vehicles' protection and reduce the risk of detection by various types of sensors.

– The camouflage is the first layer of protection for the soldiers. If the enemy can see you, he can, in the worst case, also hit you. Therefore, it is no longer enough to be invisible to the naked eye. One must also be able to operate without being detected by sensors and IT systems, says Senior Sergeant Flemming Ahrenkiel at the Danish Ministry of Defence's Materiel and Procurement Agency in a press release from the Danish Ministry of Defense.

The camouflage system has now been installed on the Danish vehicles and has been tested in terrain. Ahrenkiel emphasizes that previous systems were designed for desert environments, while today's needs are different.

– Therefore, it is logical that the supplier is Swedish and has a natural understanding of forest landscapes. Their experience and understanding of the users' needs are crucial in every procurement, he says.
