Denmark has decided to build up stockpiles with new ammunition for the Defence. The supplier will be the Danish company Danammo, which will deliver both 155 mm artillery ammunition and 120 mm mortar ammunition.

The decision was made by the Minister of Defence in consultation with the parties supporting the Danish Defence Agreement 2024–2033. This is stated in a press release from the Danish Ministry of Defence.

– With lessons learned from the war in Ukraine, the procurement of artillery and mortar ammunition has been a priority. I am therefore pleased that we have now agreed on how the stockpile build-up will take place over the coming years, says Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen in the statement.

The ammunition from Danammo is set to begin delivery from 2026. In parallel, a rebuilding of national ammunition production is also underway, where the Norwegian company Nammo has previously been appointed as the operator.
