Denmark and Norway have announced new support packages for Ukraine. Denmark is launching its 29th donation package, while Norway is funding "F-16 ammunition," air defence, and long-range missiles through the American JUMPSTART programme. Both countries emphasise continued support for Ukraine within the framework of various international initiatives.

According to a press release from Denmark's Ministry of Defence, the new Danish donation package includes contributions to the Ukrainian air defence and air force, including drones, valued at approximately 1.7 billion Danish kroner. The package was presented on 16 December by Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen at a meeting with the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG).

– With donation package 29, we send a clear signal that Denmark stands with us all the way for the sake of Ukraine and Europe. Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine is soon entering its fifth year, and Putin still shows no signs of willingness for peace. The situation requires us and our allies to lean forward and continue our unwavering support for Ukraine, says Troels Lund Poulsen, Defence Minister, in the press release.

The press release also states that Denmark is ready to contribute to the 10th weapons package within the NATO initiative Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL).

According to a press release from the Norwegian government, Norway is financing the procurement of ammunition for F-16, laser-guided missiles, and long-range air defence missiles with a total value of approximately 3.2 billion Norwegian kroner through the JUMPSTART programme.

– We expect a rapid delivery of these weapons, which Ukraine depends on to withstand Russian attacks and continue its resistance, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in the press release.

Norway has disbursed a total of 9.943 billion Norwegian kroner through the JUMPSTART programme in 2025. According to Defence Minister Tore O. Sandvik, air defence remains a prioritised area for Norwegian military support to Ukraine.
