The government has appointed Daniel Ström as the new head of the Defence Intelligence Court. Daniel Ström will assume his position on 3 October. The Defence Intelligence Court is a special court that examines applications for permits for signals intelligence, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence.

Permits are sought by the FRA on behalf of the government, the Government Offices, the Swedish Armed Forces, the Security Service, and the National Operations Department of the Police Authority (NOA), writes the Ministry of Defence.
