The daily allowance for conscripts and cadets in Sweden will be increased from the turn of the year. This was announced by the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten) in a publication on 20 January 2026.
According to the Swedish Armed Forces, the daily allowance for conscripts will be raised from 146 kronor per day to 200 kronor per day. For cadets, the allowance will be increased from 175 kronor per day to 240 kronor per day.
The Swedish Armed Forces state that payments according to the new levels will occur at the earliest with the February salary payment, as payroll specialists are working to input the amounts into the payment system. According to the publication, the difference will be paid retroactively.
The Swedish Armed Forces indicate that the decision on the new compensation levels has been made by the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag).
