LSS Mark is the Army's tactical command support system and will be deployed across tens of thousands of different platforms. FMV is responsible for developing, procuring, updating, and installing LSS Mark in various vehicles and headquarters within the defence. FMV has therefore decided to enlist an external supplier to support this work. The work will be managed, led, and delivered from several different locations in Sweden by Combitech. The agreement spans ten years and is valued at approximately 1.2 billion kronor.
– Our part of the delivery to LSS Mark will continue to strengthen the Swedish Army's command capability for many years to come. This will generate many job opportunities and possibilities for both existing and new employees across the country to contribute to this important work of building societal resilience, says Mikael Krusenberg, head of Combitech's Security Solutions division in Combitech's press release.
– We are extremely pleased to have completed this procurement, which has been time-consuming and complex. Now we have an industry partner who, in many respects, will be able to take greater responsibility and act as FMV's extended arm. With Saab as a partner, our ability to deliver and maintain the command capability that the Swedish Armed Forces demand is improved, says Magnus Ernfors, programme manager LSS Mark, FMV in the agency's press release.
