– The collaboration with Thales is a good example of how we, as a Swedish high-tech cybersecurity company, can add value to existing solutions such as SOTAS and Nexium Defence Cloud. All parts of military platforms and networks need protection, and SOTAS is today part of a critical communication network within the Swedish Armed Forces, says John Vestberg, CEO of Clavister, in a press release from the company regarding the signing.
According to Clavister's press release, the letter of intent means that the companies will collaborate to develop and deliver advanced solutions in the cybersecurity and defence domains. The aim is to strengthen the companies' ability to support their customers by offering integrated and proven solutions in networking, routing, and cloud computing.
– Blackthorn represents both extensive expertise and cutting-edge technology that combines the innovation power and delivery capability of both Thales and Clavister's software solutions into new opportunities from Tactical Edge up to the strategic level, offering a unified approach to networking and connectivity that meets both national and NATO interoperability requirements, says Blackthorn's COO Rikard Thörn.
The Swedish cybersecurity company Clavister specialises in protecting critical societal applications with solutions such as firewalls and AI-based network monitoring. Thales offers solutions in the aerospace, defence, cybersecurity, and digital identity markets. Blackthorn, like Clavister a Swedish company, combines robust cloud solutions with advanced technology and military information systems.
The agreement is based on mutually agreed principles and joint business opportunities and marks an important investment in meeting the growing needs of Swedish customers for advanced cybersecurity solutions.
– For Thales, it is of utmost importance to build strong industrial collaborations and reliable Swedish partnerships for the benefit of our customers. Advanced cybersecurity is crucial in today's military platforms. Together with Clavister and Blackthorn, we can protect the Swedish Armed Forces with Swedish cybersecurity. We will leverage our proven and robust network solutions and our long experience in delivering such to programmes like ASTRID 3 in France and to NATO within the framework of, among others, DCIS Firefly. We are convinced that the Swedish Armed Forces will benefit from these, both for national defence and as NATO allies, says Håkan Ahlström, Country Director Thales Sweden.
