The focus during the visit was on the two countries' work on issues related to civil defence. During the visit, Carl-Oskar Bohlin met with his Finnish counterpart, Minister of the Interior Krista Mikkonen. They discussed, among other things, the countries' work on crisis preparedness, rescue services, and total defence. They also talked about how NATO membership could affect the countries' work on civil defence.
Carl-Oskar Bohlin's trip began with him delivering the opening speech on Tuesday morning at the Hanaholmen Initiative Summit, a Finland-Swedish cooperation programme in crisis preparedness and civil defence. The minister also visited the Finnish National Emergency Supply Agency, which coordinates the country's emergency supply preparedness and acts as a link between the business sector and responsible authorities. During the visit, the minister also met with representatives from the Security Committee, which is Finland's national cooperation body tasked with monitoring the development of Finland's security environment and society. Additionally, the minister received a presentation on the National Defence Course, which is Finland's foremost preparedness training for senior officials.
