BAE Systems Bofors has decided to strengthen its work with Government Affairs by establishing a department for this purpose, according to a post on the company's LinkedIn page.

The company's Director of Communications, Henrik Graff-Hedberg, will lead the department and thus become the head of Communications & Government Affairs.

– Given Henrik's extensive experience and unique background in defense and security policy, as well as defense materiel issues, from both governmental and industry perspectives, and also at the highest political level, he is well-suited to take on the Government Affairs portfolio and lead the new department's work, says Lena Gillström, CEO of Bofors, in the post.

The decision is motivated by increased defense budgets in several markets and a heightened focus on defense and security issues among decision-makers at various levels.

– I look forward to leading the work with the department. It is an important portfolio as a company like ours has a clear role to play in both defense and security policy. Given the current global situation, the interest in our products, and how they contribute to the state's most important tasks - to ensure the safety of its citizens and secure the ability to defend its territory, is very high, says Henrik Graff-Hedberg to FSN.
