Foreign Minister Tobias Billström (M) will participate in the NATO Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Brussels on April 3-4. This marks Sweden's first participation as an allied member of NATO. The ministerial meeting will, among other things, discuss preparations for the NATO summit in Washington DC in July, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

– It is very gratifying to be able to participate in the NATO Foreign Ministers' Meeting for the first time as a full member. As an ally, we are now part of NATO's decision-making on policies and choices in matters of crucial importance to Sweden. I look forward to discussions on important issues with my colleagues, says Foreign Minister Tobias Billström in the press release.

The foreign ministers, together with the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, will have meetings with NATO's Indo-Pacific partners, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand, to discuss common interests in security and values.

Additionally, the foreign ministers from NATO will also meet with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba for talks in the NATO-Ukraine Council, to discuss long-term support for Ukraine.
