Saab has received an order from the Australian Department of Defense for additional deliveries of the Carl-Gustaf M4 recoilless rifle and Saab's new sighting system for the M4 variant. The order value is 400 million SEK, and deliveries are planned for 2024-2025, according to a company press release on June 4.
- We are delivering a modern weapon system, developed based on the user's needs, which enhances the Australian Defense Force's capability on the battlefield, says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab's Dynamics business area, in the press release.
According to the defense industry site Janes Defence, Australia ordered over 200 Carl-Gustaf units in 2018.
