The government has appointed Anna Starbrink as the new Deputy Director General at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency. She will assume the position on February 24, succeeding Camilla Asp.
Starbrink has previously served as the administrative manager in Uppsala Municipality and as a regional councilor in Region Stockholm. In recent years, she has been a Member of Parliament for the Liberals and a member of the Defense Committee and the Defense Commission.
– With Anna Starbrink's background and expertise, she will be a great asset. I am really looking forward to working with Anna, says Mikael Frisell, Director General of MSB, in a press release from the agency.
In a Facebook post, Anna Starbrink describes the decision to move forward:
– Leaving politics has not been an easy decision. I have had over 14 fantastic years as a full-time elected official, first in Region Stockholm and most recently in Parliament, writes Anna Starbrink on Facebook.
