MP-SEC International AB, which distributes ADAPTOS products on the Swedish market, has together with the American manufacturer been awarded a contract for a new Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) system for the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten).
According to a press release from ADAPTOS, the agreement covers underwater versions of the TiTAN system (Titanium Targeting Acquisition and Neutralization) as well as associated consumable kits. The contract is reported to be worth 9.25 million dollars and runs over a base period of three years, with an option to extend for a further four years.
Johan Brorson, project manager at MP-SEC, told NDS that the variant being procured is developed for underwater use, but that the system can equally well be used on land.
"What distinguishes the underwater version from the standard configuration is an electric breech. That solution also works when used on land," says Johan Brorson.
