The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a contract with BAE Systems Bofors for the delivery of ammunition for the Bofors 57 mm naval gun MK3/MK3B. The agreement spans three years and is valued at approximately 320 million Swedish kronor.
According to a press release from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), the procurement is conducted in collaboration with the Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command (FDF LOGCOM). The guns are used on the Swedish Navy's Visby-class and Gävle-class corvettes, as well as within the Finnish Navy.
FMV states that the joint order volume with Finland improves the chances of achieving favourable terms and that through this cooperation, the countries can also assist each other by sharing ammunition when necessary.
