Commander-in-Chief Michael Claesson has visited Kyiv and met with Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi. During the meeting, Ukraine's defense capabilities, the situation at the front, and continued Swedish support, including "Swedish-produced aircraft," were discussed.

– A very rewarding visit to Ukraine with important meetings and visits. In-depth discussion with my Ukrainian counterpart General Syrskyi about the situation and developments, writes the Commander-in-Chief in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

During the meeting, Syrskyi presented a video presentation on the Ukrainian counteroffensive at Kursk and how the Swedish artillery system Archer and Combat Vehicle 90 have been used in battles.

– Our soldiers highly value Archer and call it an "assault cannon," writes Oleksandr Syrskyi in a post on Facebook.

According to Syrskyi, the talks also touched on Ukraine's need for combat aircraft and the possibilities of Swedish deliveries.

– We have agreed to continue the dialogue on meeting the needs of the Ukrainian Air Force, particularly regarding deliveries of Swedish-produced aircraft, writes Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Michael Claesson is said to have assured that Sweden's support for Ukraine remains firm and will continue to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.

– We have a difficult road ahead of us, but we must get through it and prevail. With us, we have the people's resilience and unity, as well as the support of our allies, including our faithful and reliable friend – the Kingdom of Sweden, concludes Oleksandr Syrskyi.
