Scania has begun the delivery of the first trucks to the Estonian Defence Forces. The new vehicles, of the model Scania G410 6x4, are set to enhance the logistical capability of the Estonian Defence Forces, according to a press release from the country's defence procurement agency Riigi Kaitseinvesteeringute Keskus.

The deliveries will continue throughout 2024 and will also be utilised by the country's Home Guard, police, and border guard. The delivery is part of a seven-year framework agreement signed last October between Estonia and Latvia with Scania, Volvo Defense, and Veho, which Defence Sector News has previously reported on.

The agreement covers logistics vehicles and additional services for the countries and has a total value of 693 million euros for approximately 3,000 vehicles. The agreement spans seven years, with an option for a three-year extension. The Estonian portion of the agreement amounts to 410 million euros, while the remaining amount applies to Latvia.
