Saab has signed an agreement with NATO's procurement organisation NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency) for the life extension of the Arthur artillery locating system for the Spanish Army. The order value amounts to approximately 540 million SEK, Saab states in a press release.

According to the NSPA, the contract includes the upgrade of four radar stations, spare parts, documentation, and training for operators and technicians. This is the first order for Saab's radar system conducted via NSPA.

Arthur is used by the Spanish Army to locate hostile artillery and direct their own fire. According to Saab, the upgrade will provide the system with increased mobility, longer range, and better protection against electronic warfare sensors.

– We are pleased to continue strengthening Spain's artillery locating capability, which is crucial for warning against hostile artillery and directing the fire of our own artillery, says Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of the Surveillance business area at Saab, in the company's press release.
