Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed a contract with Lockheed Martin for the delivery of components for the F-35 fighter aircraft. The agreement has an expected total value of two billion Norwegian Krone (NOK) and extends the ongoing production.

According to a press release from Kongsberg, the new contract extends until the year 2030. The deliveries are intended for production lots 20 to 22 within the framework of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter programme and include components for all three variants of the aircraft.

The order includes the manufacture of vertical stabilisers, leading edges for the vertical stabilisers, and panels for the main landing gear. The components will be produced at Kongsberg's facilities in Norway.

The company states that the agreement serves as a confirmation of Kongsberg's long-term role as an industrial partner to Lockheed Martin within the global F-35 programme.
