Forsvarsbygg plans to construct two new residential buildings for the Armed Forces' officers at the military base Porsangmoen in Northern Norway (Nordnorge). The project includes a total of 48 residences and is expected to be completed by November 2027.
The plans are announced in a press release from Forsvarsbygg. The two new buildings will have a gross area of 585 and 525 square metres, respectively. In total, 48 residential rooms will be distributed over three floors, with six residences adapted for accessibility. According to Forsvarsbygg, this measure is part of the effort to ensure defence capability through improved living conditions for personnel.
The project also includes an outdoor environment with parking spaces, bicycle storage, and snow storage. To enable the construction, an existing garage on the site will be demolished.
– By constructing new modern and functional houses, Forsvarsbygg creates conditions for an efficient and secure everyday life for the Armed Forces' personnel. We build and manage – this is how we cooperate and how readiness is built, says Jens Hugo Leiknes, project manager at Forsvarsbygg.
The buildings will be named after the nearby mountains Bàtnàlas and Ruitogàisà.
The procurement is announced as a turnkey contract. The deadline for submitting tenders is 12 March. Contract signing and construction start are planned for spring 2026.
