Swedish Construction Service AB has delivered the first motorboat MSMB 200 to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). Up to 100 boats may be delivered by 2033, according to a press release from the company.

– Through the delivery of the boat, we demonstrate our ability to combine a civilian platform with the high demands that military use imposes. The result is a modern, cost-effective, and operationally relevant solution for the Swedish Armed Forces, says Svekon's CEO Johan Lantz.

The smaller fast motorboat, or MSMB 200, is an aluminium boat measuring just over 11 metres in length, designed for use within both the Navy and the Home Guard. The boat has the capacity to transport two people and up to 1.2 tonnes of cargo, making it suitable for various types of coastal missions, according to the company.

Svekon and FMV have had a framework agreement for the MSMB 200 since autumn 2024, which NDS previously reported on. In February 2026, the first test run with the boat was also conducted.

– The test run shows that we are on the right track with a cost-effective solution based on a proven foundation but adapted to military requirements. This is an important step in ensuring that the Swedish Armed Forces receive a modern and purpose-built boat that meets the needs of both the Navy and the Home Guard, said Gunnar Hansen, head of maritime platform systems at FMV, at that time.
