Denmark has acquired a new batch of multi-purpose tents for the Army and the Danish Emergency Management Agency through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The tents are primarily used for camp construction, medical services, and mobile hospitals.

According to a press release from the Danish Defence Materiel and Procurement Agency (FMI), this acquisition adds to the tents previously delivered to the Danish defence forces by the Spanish supplier i-4S. The increased demand has now led to an additional procurement.

The tents are mainly used by the Engineer Regiment in connection with the establishment of field camps, including as office spaces, accommodations, or for medical services. A smaller number have also been specifically purchased for medical units within the 1st Brigade and the 1st Logistics Battalion, where they are used for treating the wounded.

FMI states that the Danish Emergency Management Agency will also receive some of the new tents, which are intended for use in mobile field hospitals during international deployments. The tents are delivered in three sizes: 6x9 metres, 6x6 metres, and 6x3 metres, and can be equipped with lighting, inner tents, and sun protection depending on the climate and usage.

The procurement was conducted through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) and represents a step towards replacing older tent models such as M/2000 and TELT, OPPUSTELIGT, which according to FMI have now reached the end of their service life.
