Danish autonomy company among seven innovators from six Allied nations selected to validate counter-drone technologies at DRONE SHIELD 2026 in Czechia
AALBORG, Denmark – October 7, 2026 – Robotto ApS, the Danish provider of autonomy software for unmanned aerial systems, has been awarded a capability development contract through NATO DIANA's Rapid Adoption Service. The contract, the first use of the service by NATO Headquarters, allows Robotto to validate its technology with operators at DRONE SHIELD 2026 in Czechia, generating evidence Allies can use to assess it for procurement.
The contract is one of seven awarded to NATO DIANA innovators from six Allied nations by NATO's Defence Industry, Innovation and Armaments Division (D2IA). Funded through NATO's Defence Against Terrorism Programme of Work, the programme stems from the counter-drone package of measures launched by the NATO Secretary General in October 2025. It also contributes to NATO's Drone Edge initiative, under which Allies plan to invest more than USD 40 billion in counter-UAS capabilities over the next five years.
"Operational resilience starts with designing the conditions operators actually face," said Kenneth Geipel, Robotto's co-founder. "Experimentation alongside operators at DRONE SHIELD is how we generate the evidence that matters for adoption. We are proud of the Robotto team, and grateful to NATO DIANA and D2IA for the opportunity."
