Gothenburg-based company Diadrom, founded in 1999, has expanded its operations from software diagnostics for vehicles to products aimed at the defence industry. The company carried out a share issue that raised five million kronor to finance the venture.

Diadrom states that the company started by developing an aftermarket application for reading boat engines for Volvo Penta. The business subsequently expanded into the medical and automotive segments, and the company now delivers to all major European automotive OEMs and their subcontractors.

The company's products handle background functions in vehicle software, including cybersecurity, downloading of software updates and delivery of fault codes. Diadrom has 30 employees, around 25 of whom have expertise in mechatronics or computer science, and had revenue of 46 million kronor in 2025.

Diadrom has been delivering to defence applications since 2012. CEO Viktor Eliasson describes the entry into the defence segment as time-consuming. "I spent about six months just building contacts and familiarising myself with the industry's needs. During that time, I only listened, without trying to sell anything. After that, I put together a very small but specific offer," says Viktor Eliasson in the article.

Eliasson describes the defence industry's business cycles with an analogy: "You have to start by parking your Fiat. Then you can start backing the whole bus in. It's about long cycles where decisions take years."

The share issue, which was carried out to optimise investments in the defence industry, was oversubscribed by 20 percent according to Eliasson. The company has been listed on the stock exchange since 2007 and is traded under the name DIAH on Nordic SME. Diadrom is headquartered in central Gothenburg and is now a member of FKG (the Swedish Association of Automotive Component Manufacturers).
