Saab has signed a five-year framework agreement with the U.S. Army, allowing for orders up to a total value of approximately 5 billion SEK. The agreement pertains to the shoulder-fired disposable weapon AT4CS TW, which is used in the U.S. military program XM919 Individual Assault Munition, the company states in a press release.

AT4CS TW (Confined Space Tandem Warhead) is the latest version in the AT4 family, a series of lightweight disposable weapons used by more than 15 countries, including the USA, Saab writes. The weapon can be used against tanks, heavy combat vehicles, and targets inside buildings.

- We continuously develop and improve our products to protect soldiers and meet their needs over time. The new variant AT4CS TW is developed to meet the needs of the U.S. Army and provides enhanced capability while being easier for the soldier to carry, says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab's business area Dynamics, in the press release.

The framework agreement allows the U.S. Army to place orders for AT4CS TW over the next five years, with order values determined for each specific order. Saab has delivered over 700,000 AT4 units to the U.S. Army since 1985.

The Carl-Gustaf recoilless rifle has been in use in the USA since 1990. Last week, Saab received an order from the U.S. Air Force for the Carl-Gustaf M4 recoilless rifle.
