Freemelt has received an order for its 3D printer Freemelt ONE from an entity within the Swedish defense industry. The machine will be used in material development for defense applications, according to a press release from the company.

The order value amounts to approximately 4.2 million SEK, with delivery planned for the second quarter of 2025. The customer conducts research in several areas to enhance security and preparedness, aiming to increase production and reduce dependency on external suppliers in component supply.

– The geopolitical situation has changed rapidly, and the defense industry needs new technology and manufacturing methods to meet the rearmament that Europe is facing. Here, additive manufacturing can play an important role, says Daniel Gidlund, CEO of Freemelt, in the press release.
